Women Wrestling with Gods & Giants

A blog about the hard things that women grapple with everyday from issues of faith and God to expectations on our appearance, feeling alienated from other women, singleness, parenting & everything in between.

“I now see that owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.”- Brene Brown

Learning to own my story…

If your life has been the epitome of grace, favor and love, then you may not relate to this blog. But if any of your story includes being unwanted, illegitimate, neglected, abandoned, sexually abused, manipulated, betrayed, shamed, bullied, discriminated against, an eating disorder, pan handling to eat, being a runaway, divorced, domestic violence, spiritual abuse, being told the abuse is your fault, being cheated on, losing a child to an early death, losing hope, drinking too much, being told that you are too broken to ever fully heal, but somehow you still woke up this morning.

Welcome to my wrestling. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I am another flesh and blood sister trying to reconcile a reality tinged with more grief than I imagined possible. I hope you can cheer me on as I endeavor to find my way forward and maybe, I can offer a little insight from my pain and if not, then at least you know that someone else is fighting this battle amidst a constant barrage of harrowing gods and giants too. I am worthy of love regardless of my circumstances and so are you. There will be days this is harder to believe than others. There will be days it feels impossible to believe.

Hopefully, that is when we can lift each other up and move forward together; one valiant step at a time.
